BBC Radio 5 Live (5 Live) launched 30 years ago on 28th March 1994, it took over from the relatively short-lived BBC Radio 5.
Launch presenters included Jane Garvery Adrian Chiles, Peter Allen, Diana Madill, Eddie Mair and Sybil Ruscoe.
BBC 5 Live broadcasts a mix of news and sports with phone-ins and interviews. It covers all major sports events staged in the UK / involving British competitors. Originally brocadcasting from studios in London, the station moved In 2008 to Media City UK in Salford.
Aside from the station launch line-up, presenters over the years have included Simon Mayo, Shelagh Fogerty, Nicky Campbell, Emma Barnett, Richard Bacon, Victoria Derbyshire, Danny Baker and Anita Anand.
BBC 5 live is available on 693 and 909 AM and across all digital platforms including BBC Sounds.
