Radio Clyde launched 50 years ago on 31st December 1973. It was the first ILR station to broadcast outside of London on 261 metres MW and 95.1 FM (later moving to 102.5 FM). It’s original slogan was Radio Clyde, 261, all together now.
Radio Clyde’s output was split into two services on Friday, 12th August 1988 with the launch of Clyde FM playing top 40 music at weekends. The split became permanent on Wednesday, 3rd January 1990 with the launch of Clyde 2 on AM, a classic hits format.
Presenters have included Richard Park, Mark Goodier, Ross King Paul Coia, Brian Ford, Steve Jones, Robin Galloway, Bowie (George Bowie), Garry Spence and many, many more.
Radio Clyde/Clyde 1 features a number of Radio Clyde/Clyde 1 jingle demos and mixes from Sue Manning Music, MMI, Groove Addicts and more.
